Plain & Simple Media ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us when you use our app, When I Don't Know What to Pray, or our website at psmedia.studio.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information. We've written it as plainly as we can. If anything is unclear, please email us at contactus@psmedia.studio.
Who This Policy Applies To
This policy covers anyone who uses the When I Don't Know What to Pray app on iOS, iPadOS, or macOS, visits our website, requests a Personal Soundtrack, or participates in any feature inside the app's Fellowship.
You must be at least 13 years old to use this app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it as soon as possible. Parents who believe their child under 13 has provided us information may contact us at contactus@psmedia.studio.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and either a password (if you sign up with email) or your Apple ID identifier (if you sign in with Apple). If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive a private relay email from Apple rather than your actual email address.
Activity inside the app
We collect information about how you use the app, such as:
- Prayers, affirmations, and songs you play
- Prayer requests you save on your prayer calendar
- Your prayer streak and Seed activity (used to display your walk to you)
- Reflections you share publicly on prayer pages
- Posts, messages, and interactions inside the Fellowship
Journal entries
If you use the Prayer Journal, we store the entries you create — text, audio recordings, and video recordings. Journal entries are private to your account and never shared with other users. If you record audio, we may transcribe it for your own searching; transcripts stay private to your account.
Fellowship Giving information
If you submit a need through Fellowship Giving, we collect additional information used solely for verification: your full legal name, phone number, email address, and supporting documentation you upload (such as a hospital bill, eviction notice, or funeral invoice). This verification information is reviewed privately by our admin team and never displayed publicly. Only the title, description, category, and display name preference you choose are shown to the Fellowship.
If you give to a need, we collect the information needed to process the gift through our payment processor and to credit you for the gift (unless you choose to give privately).
Personal Soundtrack requests
If you request a Personal Soundtrack, we collect the details you provide for your song (name, scripture, theme, occasion, dedication) along with billing information processed through Stripe. We use this information only to create and deliver your Personal Soundtrack.
Location information
If you use the Find Fellowship feature with location services enabled, we use your device's GPS to find churches and gatherings near you. If you turn on Travel Mode's Smart Mode, the app checks your location when opened to determine whether you are more than 50 miles from your home city, so it can suggest fellowships where you are. Your location is used only inside the app to show you nearby results. It is not stored or shared. You can deny or turn off location access at any time in your device settings.
Technical information
We automatically collect basic technical information when you use the app or website, including device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and general usage analytics. This helps us fix bugs and improve the experience.
Subscription and payment information
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or store your credit card or payment information. We receive only the confirmation that your subscription is active, through our subscription management partner RevenueCat. Payments for Personal Soundtracks are processed through Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above only to:
- Create and manage your account
- Deliver prayers, affirmations, songs, and other content you request
- Make Fellowship features work (messages, prayer circles, prayer wall, etc.)
- Verify Fellowship Giving submissions and process gifts to people in need
- Create and deliver Personal Soundtracks you request
- Confirm and manage your subscription
- Communicate with you about your account or important changes to the service
- Improve the app, fix problems, and prevent abuse
- Comply with the law
We never sell or rent your personal information. We never share your information for third-party advertising.
How We Share Your Information
We only share your information in these limited situations:
With other users
Information you choose to share publicly inside the Fellowship — such as your display name, prayer wall requests, praise reports, testimonials, reflections on prayers, or messages in prayer circles — is visible to other users of the app. Private journal entries and verification information are never shared with other users.
With service providers we trust
We use a small number of carefully chosen third-party services to operate the app:
- Supabase — database and authentication backend
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Apple App Store — subscription billing and Sign in with Apple
- Stripe — payment processing for Personal Soundtracks and Fellowship Giving
- Google Places API — location and venue data for Find Fellowship
- Email delivery providers — for account and support communication
Each provider receives only the information necessary to perform their function and is contractually required to protect your data.
When required by law
We may share information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Plain & Simple Media, our users, or others.
If our company changes hands
If Plain & Simple Media is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified before that happens.
Fellowship Giving Funds
Funds given through Fellowship Giving are received by Plain & Simple Media and held until the corresponding need is fully verified. Once verified, funds are disbursed to the recipient. We do not keep a portion of Fellowship Giving funds. This process protects both the giver and the recipient and preserves the integrity of the Fellowship. You will see this noted when you submit a need or give a gift inside the app.
Data Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, journal entries, prayer calendar, fellowship participation, and personally identifying information from our systems within a reasonable time.
Some information may be retained longer if required by law — for example, financial records related to Fellowship Giving or Personal Soundtrack transactions may be retained for tax and accounting purposes.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly inside the app: open More, tap Account, then Delete Account. You can also email contactus@psmedia.studio and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm and complete deletion within a reasonable timeframe unless retention is required by law.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption in transit, secure storage with trusted providers, and limited internal access on a need-to-know basis. No system is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights over your personal information.
For everyone
You can:
- See what information we have about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your account and information
- Stop receiving non-essential emails from us

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which it is used
- Request a copy of the personal information we have about you
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other countries with similar laws
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you

- Request deletion of your information ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict how we use your information
- Request a copy of your information in a portable format
- Withdraw any consent you previously gave us
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
The legal bases on which we process your information include performing our contract with you (providing the app and its features), your consent (for optional features like location), our legitimate interests (improving the app, preventing abuse), and complying with the law.

International Users
Plain & Simple Media is based in the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the app, you agree to this transfer. We protect international users' information consistently with this policy and with applicable laws.
Children
This app is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contactus@psmedia.studio and we will delete that information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the app changes or as the law requires. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may also notify you inside the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
