Common Questions

Here are answers to the questions we hear most often. Tap a question to see the answer.

Getting Started
What is “When I Don't Know What to Pray”?

It's an app to help you pray, reflect, and grow with God — especially on the days when words don't come easy. Inside, you'll find spoken prayers, affirmations, reflective songs, gospel mixes, a private journal, a prayer calendar, and a fellowship of other believers walking the same path.

How do I create an account?

The easiest way is to tap Sign in with Apple on the sign-in screen. That's it — one tap, no password to remember.

You can also sign up with your email and a password if you'd like.

Which devices does the app work on?

The app currently runs on:

  • iPhone (iOS)
  • iPad (iPadOS)
  • Mac (macOS, through Mac Catalyst)

Android support is on the way.

Do I need to be online to use the app?

Yes, you'll need an internet connection for most things — especially listening to prayers, songs, and gospel mixes, and joining the fellowship. Once a prayer has been loaded, it may continue to play even if your connection drops.

Subscription & Billing
Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new subscriber gets a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends. If you cancel before day 7, you pay nothing.

How much does the app cost?

After the 7-day free trial, you can choose a monthly or yearly subscription. The yearly option saves you the most. Current pricing is shown inside the app on the subscription screen.

There's also a free tier. You can use parts of the app without paying anything — including a daily prayer on the home screen and limited library access.

What do I get with a subscription?

The full premium fellowship includes:

  • Full access to the entire library — prayers, affirmations, reflective songs, gospel music, and podcasts
  • The full journal — type, speak, or record video entries
  • All fellowship features — prayer circles, prayer wall, messages, accountability, praise reports, testimonials, and more
  • 20% off any Personal Soundtrack you request
How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime in your device's settings:

  • On iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and find this app to cancel.
  • On Mac: open the App Store, click your name in the corner, then Account Settings, and manage subscriptions from there.

If you cancel during your free trial, you won't be charged. If you cancel later, you'll still have access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple directly — we can't issue them on our end.

To request a refund from Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the purchase, and follow the steps. Apple typically responds within a few days.

I subscribed but the app says I'm not a subscriber. What do I do?

First, try this: open the app, go to your account or subscription page, and tap Restore Purchases. That tells the app to check with Apple and update your status.

If that doesn't fix it, email us at contactus@psmedia.studio with the email address you used to subscribe, and we'll help sort it out.

Does Family Sharing work?

Yes. If you turn on Family Sharing in your Apple ID settings, up to five family members can share your subscription at no extra cost. Each family member uses their own Apple ID to sign in.

Using the App
How do I listen to a prayer or song?

Tap the Library at the bottom of the screen, choose Prayers, Reflective Songs, or whatever you'd like to listen to, then tap the play button next to any item.

Can I listen in Spanish or Creole?

Yes. Many prayers, affirmations, and reflective songs are available in English, Español, and Kreyòl. When a translation is available, you'll see language options on the player.

If a translation isn't there yet, tap Request another language on that prayer's page and we'll let you know when it's ready.

How does the prayer streak work?

Every day you pray inside the app, your streak grows by one. The streak isn't about being perfect — it's a gentle reminder to keep showing up, even when you can only whisper a prayer.

If you miss a day, the streak resets, and that's okay. Just start again.

How do I add a prayer request?

Tap the prayer calendar from your home screen. Then tap the + or New Prayer Date button. Give your prayer a name (like “Healing for Mom”), pick a category, set the date, and save.

Your prayer will show up on your calendar so you can return to it, mark it as ongoing, or celebrate when it's answered.

How does the journal work?

The journal is your private space to capture what God is doing. You can:

  • Type your prayer or thought
  • Speak it out — we'll transcribe it for you
  • Record a video — capture the moment in motion

Only you can see your journal entries.

What is the Fellowship?

The Fellowship is where believers gather inside the app. It includes:

  • Messages — private conversations with other members
  • Prayer Circles — small groups praying together
  • Prayer Wall — share a request the community can pray over
  • Accountability — invite a trusted partner to walk with you
  • Praise Reports & Testimonials — share what God has done
  • Find Fellowship — discover churches and gatherings near you, even when you're traveling
  • Devotional Discussions — talk through what you're reading and reflecting on
  • PICU (Prayer Intensive Care Unit) — urgent prayer for those in crisis
  • Fellowship Giving — verified needs the community can come around and bless
What is a Personal Soundtrack?

A Personal Soundtrack is a one-of-a-kind song made just for you — built around a name, a scripture, a moment, or a season you're walking through. Think weddings, funerals, anniversaries, healing journeys, dedications.

Each soundtrack includes the original composition, scripture woven in, a custom theme, and cover art. Subscribers receive a discount on every Personal Soundtrack they request. Current pricing is shown inside the app on the request screen.

You can request one from inside the app.

Seeds
What are Seeds?

Seeds are a way to mark your walk inside the app. They reflect your faithfulness and alignment as you pray, reflect, fellowship, and grow. Think of them as gentle markers of consistency — not points to chase, but fruit of showing up.

How do I earn Seeds?

Seeds grow as you walk. You earn them by:

  • Prayer — spending time in prayer inside the app
  • Affirmation — listening to and receiving affirmations
  • Scripture — sitting with the Word
  • Songs — listening to reflective songs and gospel music
  • Journal — capturing what God is doing through entries
  • Fellowship — engaging with the community
  • Giving — sowing into the ministry
  • Referrals — inviting others into the fellowship
What can I do with my Seeds?

You can use your Seeds for yourself, or you can sow them into someone else's walk. Tap Redeem Your Seeds in your profile to see what they can be used for.

What's the difference between Current and Lifetime Seeds?

Current is how many Seeds you have available right now to use or sow.

Lifetime is the total number of Seeds you've earned since you began walking with the app. Lifetime doesn't go down, even when you spend your Current Seeds — it's the record of your full journey.

What does “Seed cap” mean?

To keep things meaningful, there's a gentle limit on how many Seeds you can earn from one activity in a short period. For example, after a certain number of songs in one stretch, you'll see a note like “5 more songs until your next Seed cap.”

The cap resets, so just keep walking — Seeds will keep growing alongside you.

Fellowship Giving
What is Fellowship Giving?

Fellowship Giving is a place inside the app where believers can come together around real, verified needs — medical bills, housing, funeral costs, family crises, and other moments where someone in the body of Christ needs the rest of the body to step in.

It is not crowdfunding. It is the church being the church.

How do I submit a need?

Inside the Fellowship section, tap Fellowship Giving, then Submit a Need. You'll be asked to share:

  • Your full legal name (kept private — used only to verify the need)
  • Your phone number and email (private, for verification)
  • The category of the need (Medical, Housing, Funeral, Family Crisis, or Other)
  • A short title and a description of what's happening
  • The amount needed
  • Supporting documentation (a hospital bill, eviction notice, funeral invoice, etc.)
  • How you'd like your name shown publicly (full name, first name only, or anonymous family)

Every submission is reviewed before it is ever posted. This protects you and the Fellowship.

Why does Fellowship Giving require verification?

Verification protects the person submitting the need and the people who give. It also keeps the Fellowship a place of trust, not a place where anyone can post anything and ask for money.

Our admin team reviews each submission privately. Documentation you upload is never shared publicly — only the story you choose to share and the name preference you select appear in the Fellowship.

How are the funds handled?

All funds given through Fellowship Giving are received by Plain and Simple Media and disbursed to the person in need after the submission is fully verified. This is part of our agreement — you'll see it noted when you submit your need.

This protects the giver, the recipient, and the integrity of the Fellowship.

Can I give without sharing my name?

Yes. When you give to a need, you can choose whether to have your name visible with your gift or to give privately. Many givers choose to remain unseen — “Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth” (Matthew 6:3).

What happens if a need turns out not to be real?

Because every submission is verified before posting, this should be rare. If a submitted need is later found to be false or misleading, the listing is removed immediately, and any funds collected are returned to the givers.

We take the trust of this Fellowship very seriously.

Troubleshooting
The audio won't play. What should I do?

Try these steps in order:

  • Make sure your volume is turned up and your device isn't on silent
  • Check your internet connection — audio needs to stream from our servers
  • Close the app fully and reopen it
  • If you're using Bluetooth headphones, try playing from your phone's speaker to see if the issue is with the headphones
  • Restart your device

If none of that works, email us with the name of the prayer or song that won't play and what device you're using.

The app keeps crashing or freezing.

This usually fixes it:

  • Close the app fully (swipe it away from your recent apps)
  • Restart your device
  • Make sure your iOS or macOS is up to date
  • Make sure the app itself is the latest version

If it keeps happening, please email us and tell us what you were doing when it crashed. That helps us fix it.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password and follow the steps. You'll get an email with a link to reset it.

If you signed in with Apple, you don't have a password for this app — just tap Sign in with Apple again.

I want to delete my account.

You can delete your account from inside the app: go to MoreAccountDelete Account.

Deleting your account removes your profile, your journal entries, your prayer calendar, and your fellowship connections. This cannot be undone.

If you'd rather pause for a while without losing everything, you can sign out and come back anytime.

Privacy & Trust
Is my journal private?

Yes. Your journal entries are completely private — only you can see them. They are stored securely and never shared with other users or anyone outside our team.

What data does the app collect?

We only collect what we need to make the app work — your account info, your prayer activity (so we can show your streak), and the things you choose to share in the fellowship. We never sell your data.

For the full details, please read our Privacy Policy.

Are my prayer requests shared with anyone?

Only if you choose to share them. Prayer requests on the Prayer Wall are visible to the fellowship. Requests in your private prayer calendar stay between you and God.

Who is behind the app?

The app is made by Plain & Simple Media, a faith-driven company building tools for the body of Christ. The app is rooted in Colossians 3:16 — “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.”
